  • In 2005 I trained to become a gas engineer through Barnsley Industrial Training Centre after completion of this training course I started up my own plumbing and heating business
  • Prior to this I worked as an underground mine worker from 1988 to 2005 in march 2016 I undertook my domestic gas refresher and in June 2018 undertook my commercial gas again

  • Public houses and restaurants and the jobs vary from wet plumbing work such as leaks
  • To breakdowns on domestic and commercial boilers and hot water heaters along with Installations and refurbishment projects
  • The role is varied and is a mixture of reactive planned and quoted works
  • In June of 2018 I undertook my commercial gas again and also my CSCS

  • My role as a gas fitter for AO.COM is fitting appliances and white goods for customers who have purchased the products online such as gas and electric ovens, hobs and cookers along with integrated appliances such as dishwashers and freezers.   • When I started with British Coal in 1988 I worked as a Transfer Point Attendant running the conveyor belt
  • I then progressed to a Belt Man where I completed all maintenance, repairs and joints on all conveyors
  • I then progressed to Locomotives where I became a Shunter Locomotive Driver undertaking face salvage, installations, transporting materials into various parts of the mine and also undertaking rope haulage work
  • After Locomotives I progressed to Development Drivages where I started on Back Up which entailed getting all materials to the front of the heading for the team
  • I then gained my Face and Heading Training which enabled me to advance to work on the Longwall and in the Heading Team driving the Heading Machines, using Bolting Rigs such as Gopher Turbo, Hand Held Side Boarers, Helmann Boarers and also integrated rigs on some Joy Machines
