  • Employed as the Chief Engineer within a critical engineering team of multi-skilled engineers on the prestigious H.S.B.C contract, one of the largest global combined Engineering and Facilities Management contracts, looking after Sheffield’s Global I.T Operations Head Office buildings. Comprehensive knowledge on a diverse variety of engineering systems and equipment with the ability to adapt readily to new situations and make informed decisions with excellent communication
  • A professional, self-motivated and experienced Engineering Manager, who proactively deals with Facilities Management and building emergency issues in the absence of the site Facilities Manager. Ensuring business continuity and a safe working environment for the client and all service partners. Career driven through best practice engineering and sustainability, predominantly qualified in Air Conditioning systems and Health and Safety regulations and legislation. Key Skills:

  • Chief Engineer responsible for a team of six engineers, a total of 700,000 sq. ft. of Head Office & retail buildings. Duties include the complete delivery of best practice engineering ensuring that reactive, planned, preventative and proactive maintenance is carried out whilst ensuring continual statutory compliance and innovative energy sustain- ability is implemented throughout the portfolio. Effective site incumbent Engineering Management role has successfully delivered various major M&E upgrade and capital refurbishment projects, some lasting over 12 months and with budget spend of over £10M including: Full Fire Alarm System and Gas Suppression Systems, L.V Switch- boards, Busbar and RCBO enhancements, Distribution Infrastructure with Back-Up Generator upgrades, Intelligent Lift modernisations, Chillers, Boilers and Mechanical Infrastructure replacements. Regular meetings with Project Managers, Consultants, Architects, Design Engineers, Service Partners and the Client ensured efficient cohesion to deliver the projects within programme. Also reporting directly to the client (H.S.B.C Corporate Real Estate) Sole responsibility for all aspects of Close Control, VRF and Split Air Conditioning and Mechanical systems in H.S.B.C Head Office buildings and retail branches throughout the Sheffield area
  • Full apprenticeship in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer to attain great engineering experience in a critical environment whilst also developing the skills and knowledge required to train junior engineers for their advancement
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges with a keenness for life-long learning. Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Resident site technician for HSBC Head Office buildings, employed as the sole air conditioning engineer for the area. My responsibilities included but were not exclusive to; all planned site maintenance, fault identification and rectification, project planning, ordering of spares and installation of new systems throughout all Head Office buildings in the Sheffield area and cross-team working with the on-site Heating Engineers and Electricians
  • My time at HSBC has given me the opportunity to work on air conditioning genres consisting of V.R.F, Split Systems and Close Control Communication Room systems. Initially employed with Sulzer Infra (UK) after TUPE transfers I have adapted to changing policies and procedures working with the corporate organisations Elyo Services, Axima Building Services and Sulzer Infra

  • M.S Invincible – As a Leading Marine Engineering Mechanic, responsible for undertaking all attributes of service and maintenance on air conditioning and refrigeration systems, steam boilers and desalination plants, instructing junior engineers on this machinery for advancement
  • M.S Exeter – Part of a department maintaining 1 MW diesel generators providing power and lighting distribution. Assisted in the removal and servicing of various auxiliary and main machinery, including Rolls Royce Olympus & Tyne gas turbines

  • I have a young daughter who means the world to me and keeps me focused but when I have spare time, I exercise and keep fit by attending the gym, playing badminton, running and enjoy playing golf when the rare opportunity arises. I take pleasure in motorcycling, especially when the weather makes it possible to enjoy some of this country’s fantastic scenery. I have enjoyed undertaking home renovation projects to an 1840’s stone house, using innovative restoration techniques and attention to detail, which I have found to be a challenging and rewarding experience. I also have an interest in collecting rare music from many different genres. I consider myself to be a sociable, dedicated and reliable person who is enthusiastic in whatever I do and believe that I make the most out of life
