Salary & Benefits

  • £37,000 – £44,000 Basic Salary
  • Company Van Provided
  • Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 17:00
  • Overtime Available
    • Time & a Half weekdays until midnight
    • Double Time after midnight until 6am
    • Weekend overtime rates available

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer to join a growing mobile engineering team covering commercial contracts across the North East postcode region.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong refrigeration and air conditioning experience looking for a stable position with excellent overtime opportunities, great working hours, and varied day-to-day work across commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Inspect, service, repair, and install refrigeration equipment including compressors, chillers, commercial refrigeration units, and associated controls
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems to minimise downtime
  • Repair and replace components including thermostats, relays, filters, compressors, motors, bearings, valves, belts, heat exchangers, and pressure controls
  • Carry out maintenance on fan coil units, ventilation systems, and associated mechanical plant equipment
  • Support general building services maintenance including HVAC, mechanical, and minor fabric tasks
  • Complete all service reports, compliance records, and documentation accurately and on time
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with health & safety procedures, RAMS, and company standards
  • Deliver a professional and customer-focused service across multiple commercial sites

Essential

  • Significant experience within refrigeration, air conditioning, or HVAC building services maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding, reactive maintenance, and installation experience
  • Experience working within commercial FM or building services environments
  • Experience working under strict health & safety procedures

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 Equivalent
    AND one of the following:
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration & AC Systems
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating & Ventilation
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating & Ventilation Service & Maintenance
