Job description
We are working with a client in Bermuda who have recently promoted their British ex-pat Chiller Engineer into a Contracts Manager role. He joined as an Engineer and progressed into a Supervisor Role, and now into Management.
As a result they are looking for a British Chiller Engineer to replace him on the tools, and work directly for him.

We are working with a market-leading Facilities Management and Engineering organisation based in Bermuda, renowned for delivering and maintaining mission-critical M&E systems across some of the island’s most important commercial and infrastructure assets.
Due to continued growth and an increasing portfolio of technically complex sites, they are seeking a Senior Chiller Specialist Service Technician to take a lead role in the maintenance, service and optimisation of large chilled-water systems.
This is a senior, hands-on technical position, suited to an engineer who takes pride in plant performance, fault-finding excellence and mentoring others.

As Senior Chiller Specialist, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and commissioning of large chilled-water HVAC systems across a diverse portfolio of critical sites.
You will act as a technical authority on site, supporting plant reliability, mentoring junior engineers and working closely with management and clients to ensure optimal system performance.

As Senior Chiller Specialist, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and commissioning of large chilled-water HVAC systems across a diverse portfolio of critical sites.
You will act as a technical authority on site, supporting plant reliability, mentoring junior engineers and working closely with management and clients to ensure optimal system performance.
Technical & Engineering
- Service, maintain and commission large chilled-water systems
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and control faults
- Work on centrifugal, screw and reciprocating chillers
- Ensure plant efficiency, reliability and compliance with standards
- Work on major OEM plant including Carrier, Trane, York, McQuay and similar
- Chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, controls and associated systems
- Support planned maintenance, reactive works and system optimisation
- Act as senior technical escalation point for complex issues
- Mentor and support junior HVAC engineers and technicians
- Contribute to technical training, standards and best practice
- Support asset improvement and lifecycle planning
- Work closely with site teams and clients in live environments
- Provide clear technical explanations and reporting
- Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism and presentation
Essential
- Extensive experience working with large chilled-water HVAC systems
- Strong fault-finding and commissioning capability
- Experience with major chiller manufacturers (Carrier, Trane, York, McQuay etc.)
- Background in commercial, industrial or critical environments
- Professional, safety-conscious and client-facing
- OEM training or manufacturer certification
- Experience in healthcare, data-driven or mission-critical environments
- Supervisory or mentoring experience
- Overseas or remote-location engineering experience
