Job description
North West & Yorkshire | Blackburn Office Base
£55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Full Package
A well-established national FM and engineering business is looking to bring in an experienced Contract Manager to oversee a portfolio of mobile maintenance contracts across the North West and Yorkshire.
This isn’t a desk-only management role. They need someone technically credible who understands engineering delivery, can manage people properly and is comfortable being the main point of contact across a fast-moving portfolio covering offices, schools and healthcare environments.
You’ll be leading a team of 5–6 direct reports while overseeing the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive building services maintenance across multiple sites.
The business is open on technical bias - electrical, mechanical, gas or air conditioning backgrounds are all relevant - but you must come from an engineering background rather than purely operational admin.
The Role
- Managing mobile engineering contracts across the region
- Leading engineering teams and supporting service delivery performance
- Overseeing PPMs, reactive works and overall contract compliance
- Managing KPIs, SLAs, reporting and client expectations
- Working closely with engineers, subcontractors and support teams
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients across commercial, education and healthcare sites
- Monitoring contract performance, compliance and operational standards
- Using CAFM systems to manage workflow, reporting and contract activity
About You
You’ll likely already be operating as a Contract Manager, Senior Supervisor or Operations Manager within FM/building services and understand what good service delivery actually looks like in practice.
You’ll need:
- A technical engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, Gas or AC)
- Experience managing mobile FM contracts
- Strong working knowledge of CAFM systems
- Good commercial and operational awareness
- Confidence managing engineers, clients and subcontractors alike
- Understanding of compliance, H&S and statutory maintenance environments
Package
- £55,000 basic salary
- £5,000 car allowance
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Life assurance
- Discount and wellbeing schemes
- Ongoing training and development
- Stable long-term contract portfolio with a recognised FM provider
Good fit for someone who still enjoys the engineering side of FM, but wants the autonomy and responsibility of running their own contracts and teams properly.
