We are working exclusively with a growing FM and reactive maintenance provider to recruit a Senior Contracts Manager for a major Portsmouth-based contract.

This is a high-profile operational leadership role managing a busy reactive maintenance and building fabric contract within a demanding client environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of operational delivery, client management, commercial performance and additional works across a large-scale, fast-paced account.

This role would suit an experienced Contracts Manager from a reactive FM, building fabric or maintenance background who enjoys operational ownership, client interaction and leading teams in challenging environments.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of a reactive maintenance and building fabric contract
  • Leading operational teams, engineers and subcontractors
  • Full responsibility for contract performance and client satisfaction
  • Managing P&L performance, revenue and margin control
  • Pricing and overseeing additional works and variations
  • Supporting estimating activities and commercial reviews
  • Managing operational escalations and service delivery issues
  • Building strong relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance across health & safety, RAMS and governance
  • Monitoring KPIs, service levels and operational performance
  • Supporting growth opportunities across the account

The contract operates within a live, reactive environment and requires a hands-on, organised and commercially aware manager who can balance operational delivery with client expectations.

About You

We’re looking for a confident and proactive FM professional with strong operational and commercial capability.

You will ideally have experience within:

  • Reactive Maintenance
  • Facilities Management
  • Building Fabric
  • Hard Services FM
  • Mobile Engineering Operations
  • Public Sector or Education environments

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Experience managing reactive FM or maintenance contracts
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial awareness including P&L responsibility
  • Experience pricing works and managing variations
  • Technical understanding of building maintenance/building fabric works
  • Ability to lead teams in fast-paced operational environments
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience within framework or schedule of rates contracts would be beneficial
