Solar PV Electrician – Central Scotland

We are recruiting an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join a growing in-house renewables team covering Central Scotland.

This is a permanent employed position focused on the electrical installation, testing and commissioning of domestic Solar PV systems, with exposure to battery storage and other low-carbon technologies.

The business is continuing to expand its directly employed engineering team across the UK, moving away from a heavily subcontracted model and investing in its own engineers, training, vehicles and long-term development.

The Role

As a Solar PV Electrician, you will:

• Carry out the electrical installation of domestic Solar PV systems
• Install and connect inverters, isolators and associated AC/DC equipment
• Complete testing, inspection and commissioning of completed systems
• Carry out fault finding and remedial works where required
• Work across a range of Solar PV systems and manufacturers
• Complete electrical certification and digital job documentation
• Ensure all work is completed in line with current electrical regulations
• Work alongside dedicated roofing teams completing the roof-side installation
• Liaise with customers and provide a professional handover on completion
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service
• Support installation quality and resolve technical issues on site

Battery storage experience would be useful, but it is not essential if you already have strong Solar PV installation experience.

As the renewables operation continues to develop, there may also be opportunities to work across technologies such as EV charging and other domestic low-carbon systems, with appropriate training provided.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a fully qualified electrician with:

• Previous hands-on Solar PV installation experience
• Strong domestic electrical installation experience
• SVQ Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent
• 18th Edition
• SJIB / ECS / Gold Card advantageous
• Good testing, fault-finding and commissioning ability
• Confidence working independently in customer homes
• Strong attention to quality and compliance
• Full UK Driving Licence

Previous battery storage experience, manufacturer training or additional renewable qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
