Facilities Assistant

Salary - up to £33,120

Monday - Friday, 08:00-17:00

Harwell, OX11

A new opportunity has come to the market working for a well known and leading FM company to be based out of a static site in Harwell based at a healthcare/R&D facility.

We are looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant / Handyperson with a good knowledge of Facilities Maintenance. The ideal candidate needs to be reliable, able to complete work within required time frame and manage own deadline requirements. Have a calm manner and be able to work under pressure and against rapidly changing demands and priorities. Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support to other areas of the business on occasions, as required.

Job specific responsibilities for a Facilities Assistant:

  • Basic Plumbing
  • Basic Electrics
  • Basic Carpentry
  • Lamp changing
  • Building and moving furniture
  • Take Tap Temperatures
  • Flushing
  • PPM's
  • Reactive maintenance
  • Plant Room Checks
  • Assist other engineers onsite as required
  • Replacement of floor tiles (carpet ceramic)
  • Replace suspended ceiling tiles and clean ceiling grilles
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Tiling
  • Client facing role

Experience/Qualifications for a Facilities Assistant:

  • Ideally applicants will have a trade qualification (Carpentry/Plumbing/Painting & Decorating)
  • A can do attitude towards any given task
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
