Commercial Gas Engineer
Reading / Farnborough / Guildford
Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week
£42,500 + overtime

We currently have a career changing opportunity for a multi-skilled Commercial Gas Engineer working for one of the UK's biggest FM companies across a prestigious supermarket contract, you will be given 20 stores to look after directly and will be responsible for the reactive and pre-planned maintenance on site.

Job Responsibilities:
- Complete PPM schedule within agreed timescales ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately
- Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk assessing the requirements of the job and carry our repairs where necessary
- Prioritize maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times
- Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the HVAC supervisor of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement
- Ensure that compliance documentation is always completed and up to date
- Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by management
- Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual's technical competence in accordance with current specifications
- Attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally SVQ/NVQ Level 3 within Heating/Ventilation/Mechanical Equivalent Qualification
- ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications - COCN,CIGA,CORT,ICPN,CDGA, TPCP1/1A as a minimum
- ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications - CCN, CENWAT, CPA as a minimum
- City and Guilds 2079-1 FGas Category 1
- City and Guilds 7671 18th Edition
- Ability to service/maintain/repair/install a range of mechanical and electrical HVAC plant and equipment
- A working knowledge of the maintenance service within the FM industry is essential, with previous working knowledge of a multi-client contracted environment being desirable; and PPM and compliance background.
- Previous experience of developing client relationships would be advantageous
- Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating and presenting performance data along with a good understanding of the CAFM
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills
- Strong results focus, takes accountability for own performance and that of the team
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making
- Highly flexible and self-starting. The role will have many challenges and a flexible approach will be needed
