The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mobile Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting a major UK government contract.

Based from Newcastle and covering sites nationally, this role will involve delivering high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and electrical building services support across commercial properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for a varied mobile role with long-term stability, nationwide travel, and the chance to work within a professional FM environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance works within agreed SLAs and response times
  • Diagnose faults and complete electrical repairs across commercial building services systems
  • Support maintenance activities across HVAC, mechanical, fabric, and general building services systems
  • Carry out minor installation works, inspection, and testing where required
  • Participate in call-out rota and provide emergency response support when necessary
  • Monitor subcontractors and issue permits to work ensuring compliance with site procedures
  • Ensure all plant and electrical systems operate safely and efficiently
  • Complete all paperwork, compliance records, and PDA documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety including RAMS, COSHH, and safe systems of work
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and provide a professional customer-focused service

Essential

  • Significant experience within electrical building services maintenance
  • Experience carrying out PPM, reactive maintenance, fault finding, and installation works
  • Experience working within FM or commercial building services environments
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and compliance requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 & AM2
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
