Static Electrical Engineer Jobs in Sheffield & Rotherham

Are you an electrically qualified Maintenance Engineer looking for a genuinely stable, site-based role with minimal call-outs and an excellent work-life balance?
We're recruiting for a Static Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management provider, supporting a prestigious manufacturing and commercial facility in the Sheffield/Rotherham area.
This is a rare opportunity to become the dedicated on-site engineer, working closely with the client and taking ownership of a well-established contract with over six years remaining.

The Role
As the site's Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the building's electrical and mechanical services.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. The site is reactive by nature, so we're looking for someone who can think on their feet, work independently, and build strong relationships with the on-site client team.
You'll also carry out occasional small works, basic installations, and minor plumbing and building services tasks where required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across electrical building services
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and fault finding
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults
  • Maintain lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting and associated electrical systems
  • Carry out minor electrical installation works and small projects
  • Support HVAC plant and general building services maintenance
  • Undertake basic plumbing repairs and small pipework modifications where required
  • Complete maintenance records using CAFM systems
  • Ensure statutory compliance and health & safety standards are maintained
  • Develop strong working relationships with the on-site client team

Essential Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Strong electrical maintenance experience within Facilities Management, Manufacturing or Building Services
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience
  • Excellent fault-finding ability
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • Experience using CAFM systems
  • Previous experience within manufacturing or commercial environments

Salary & Benefits
  • £44,000 - £45,000 basic salary
  • Overtime available
  • Free on-site parking
  • Monday to Friday working pattern
  • Static site with no travelling between contracts
  • Stable long-term contract with over six years remaining
  • Opportunity to work closely with a major blue-chip client
  • Long-term career stability

On-Call
Unlike many FM roles, the on-call commitment is extremely low.
  • Site-specific on-call rota only
  • Typically around two call-outs per year
  • Rare weekend attendance (approximately one weekend every six months)
  • Engineer is third in the escalation process, with the site monitored by a Building Management System (BMS)
