Technical Services Manager
Location: City of London (EC4R)
Salary: Up to £75,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Bonus
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 Hours per Week)
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead the engineering operation within a prestigious corporate headquarters in the City of London.
This is a high-profile, client-facing role within a recently refurbished, technically advanced commercial building, offering the opportunity to manage a team of skilled engineers while maintaining exceptional standards of service delivery.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills, acting as the key point of contact for both the client and engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a team of 10 engineers, including:
- 8 Shift Engineers
- 2 Day Engineers
- Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works are delivered safely and effectively.
- Maintain compliance across all building systems and statutory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across critical building services and infrastructure.
- Manage subcontractors and specialist service providers.
- Monitor site performance, service delivery and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and reporting.
- Oversee health & safety, permit-to-work systems and site compliance.
- Support budgeting, asset management and lifecycle planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a Technical Services Manager, Engineering Manager or similar leadership role within commercial building services.
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems within a corporate or critical environment.
- Previous experience managing engineering teams and client relationships.
- High Voltage (HV) Authorised Person experience is essential, either current or previously held.
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of compliance, statutory maintenance and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within prestigious, client-facing commercial environments.
