Position Overview - HVAC Technician

Our client is recruiting for their prestigious blue-chip financial sector contract. They are currently looking to recruit an on-site HVAC Technician at one of their prestigious sites in Leicester. The site consists of multiple data centres and office blocks.

The HVAC Technician role will be static, carrying out service, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of commercial HVAC systems. You will be working on a variety of equipment on-site, inclusive of HVAC, CRAC, electrical, plumbing and building fabric equipment

You will be working on a range of HVAC systems made by a variety of manufacturers. A full list is available on request. You will be working at a large commercial site in Leicester

Your responsibilities will include;


  • Diagnosing and fixing HVAC systems
  • Collection and fitting of new parts
  • Carrying out reactive calls and planned maintenance
  • Responding to callouts across the site
  • Updating service records and timekeeping information in an accurate and timely way
  • Updating client reporting systems in an accurate and timely way
  • Working safely in line with health and safety procedures


Essential Qualifications:

  • City and Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 Equivalent


  • NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems


  • NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating and Ventilation


  • NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating and Ventilation Service & Maintenance


Desired Skills and Experience

  • A wider building services knowledge would be an advantage
  • Safe working practices in relation to 3 phase and single-phase electrics and applications
  • Ability to maintain/ repair a range of mechanical equipment, e.g. fans, pumps and compressors to recognised standards
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work at heights, work in confined spaces etc.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer focused
  • Self-motivated
  • PC literate
  • Hold a full UK drivers' licence

HVAC Technician Package

  • Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 (Depending on Experience)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
