Head Chef - £25,000 - £27,000

Job Purpose

  • To manage the production of all meals and food services to the Company's standards whilst meeting client specifications and adhering to Food Safety, Health and Safety and other relevant legislation

Responsibilities

  • To manage all kitchen staff both within the kitchen and whilst serving
  • To manage the preparation and service of all food
  • To be responsible for all menu planning and ordering whilst adhering to specified costs and budgets
  • To review on a regular basis the menu with a view to implementing improvements
  • To recommend and implement cost reductions or sales initiatives
  • To be available directly behind the food counters during service and deliver a service which continually meets client expectations
  • To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen to minimise food loss and wastage
  • To complete and ensure the compliance of all cleaning schedules
  • Train, motivate and develop the kitchen staff in all aspects of their roles
  • Report all accidents, unfit food customer complaints/comments, breakages, loss or theft
  • Prepare and assist with all functions outside of normal working hours
  • Attend all meetings and training courses
  • Maintain a high standard of personal and operational hygiene and ensure these standards are met by the team
  • Ensure all statutory and company regulations relating to fire, safety and hygiene are adhered to
  • Carry out any reasonable request by management

Knowledge Skills & Experience

  • Qualified to 706-1 and 706-2 or NVQ 3 Food Preparation or equivalent
  • Proven experience at a similar level
  • Excellent team leadership skills
  • Trained in COSHH, Health and Safety and Food Safety
