Commercial Gas Engineer

Our client is seeking Commercial Gas Engineer

Working for a well know Mechanical and Electrical company who have been established for 20 years within their industry providing a full mechanical service package from design and build to installation, service and maintenance they cover heating, plumbing, air conditioning and ventilation. The mobile commercial gas engineer role is a front line customer facing team with the responsibility of dealing high end maintenance in line with company policy and provides an active communication channel on work being carried out with parties involved. The role will be responsible for delivering the Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Works.

This commercial gas engineer role will be based around multiple contracts covering the Midlands looking after multiple clients. This will include sites for retail, local authorities, offices, education, healthcare and other commercial sites.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work to planned service activities across all sites and clients within our business
  • To undertake gas and mechanical works, issued through the technical Helpdesk, within
  • set time frames so customer expectations are met
  • To actively undertake general proactive maintenance work and reactive works identified
  • on site
  • To undertake new installations, major and minor repair works and attend to breakdowns
  • when required
  • To provide callout response for customers as detailed on the weekly callout rota
  • To work an amount of overtime to complete chargeable out-of-hours PPM and reactive
  • work
  • To take ownership and accountability for ensuring site log books and commissioning
  • sheets are kept to a high standard
  • To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards
  • To provide a professional service and represent the Company in a way which ensures
  • cus-tomer satisfaction
  • To evaluate performance and ensure proper servicing and maintenance of equipment
  • un-der contract to the company is carried out
  • Liaise with clients and internal departments to build effective relationships ensuring that
  • the image presented suitably represents the high standards required by the Company
  • You must be able to work flexible hours (out of hours and occasional weekends as required)

Requirements

  • Gas Safe registered and hold the relevant ACS Certifications
  • COCN1, BMP1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1 and TPCP1 certified
  • Significant relevant experience in the industry
  • Ability to diagnose faults and solve problems on complex systems and appliances
  • Ability to work independently and to a high standard
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver a first-class service to deadline
  • A positive 'can-do' attitude

Benefits

  • Salary up to £36,000
  • Travel time less an hour a day (30 minutes each way)
  • Working Monday - Frdiay 08:00 - 16:30 with a half hour unpaid lunch
  • On-call is 1 in 7
  • £100 Standby when on call
  • Door to Door travel when called out on standby
  • 20 days holiday to start increasing by 1 day after 3 years and 1 day per year after that

Overtime rates apply;

  • Before 07:30 - time and a half
  • After 17:00 - time and a half
  • Saturday until 13:00 - time and a half
  • Saturday from 13:00 and Sunday - Double time
