Shift Electrical Engineer

Client are recruiting for a Shift Electrical Engineer to be based in North Warwickshire. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary of up to £33,000 per annum and benefits package.

To report directly to the Supervisor with responsibility for engineering on a day to day basis including operation and maintenance, including development of the contract.

The current shifts for this role is Mornings - 06:00 to 14:00, Afternoons - 14:00 to 22:00 and Nights - 20:00 to 06:00

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

  • To safely operate and maintain all systems and associated equipment on site in line with current legislation
  • To maintain a good working relationship with customer representatives and work in a manner, which ensures that all aspects of the service agreement between the client and the customer are delivered with the requisite levels of professionalism
  • To carry out all PPM and repairs as necessary
  • Responsible for all installations and maintenance of site Electrical HV & LV Systems
  • Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently
  • Responsible for all record keeping, control of sub-contractors and raising and issuing of safety documentation as required
  • Ability to work in a customer focused environment where quality and image is very important
  • Ensure any parts required are clearly and accurately stated
  • Ensure that any difficulties encountered on engineering activities are reported to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
  • To be available for out of hours call out, weekend working depending on production and business requirements
  • A flexible approach to working hours, areas to support service delivery and contract requirements
  • Managing workloads will be critical to success as will the regular analysis of reactive breakdowns to ensure route causes are identified and eliminated to successfully achieve KPI's
  • We require a fully reliable Time Served Electrical Engineer who can work on their own initiative or within a team environment
  • Produce quality reports of their findings along with estimates and sourcing of parts if required
  • The role will involve being the face of the company so a smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others is required
  • To assist in delivering those aspects of the Company Performance Contract as they relate to this site, including satisfying all the requirements of the Company and the contract with the Customer, in line with existing procedures, by:
  • Fulfilling site health, safety and environmental, quality and customer service targets
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of existing plant and equipment and diagnosing faults as required.
  • Safely and efficiently maintaining (or supervising the maintenance by third party contractors of) existing plant and equipment
  • Safely and efficiently installing (or supervising the installation by third party contractors of) new plant and equipment
  • To attend site in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normal working hours (on call)
  • To conform to company standards, rules and procedures
  • To carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, repairs and operations of equipment and services in accordance with best practice
  • To ensure that all third party contractors that are requested to carry out work on site, do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by any company or site specific procedures

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Apprenticeship, primary trade qualifications and substantial experience within a building services environment
  • A recognised industry Electrical qualification will be required
  • IPAF 3a & 3b
  • Health & Safety Awareness
  • Legionella Awareness (Not Essential)
  • Proficient in use of IT software Word/Excel etc.
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure
  • Ability to diagnose faults and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to operate in a customer focused environment
  • Confident and positive
  • Reliable and Flexible
  • Able to work alone and Supervise a team of Technical operatives

  • AP15 - HV Qualified up to 11KV
  • IEE 17th Edition
  • AP12 - LV Qualified
  • 2391 City & Guilds Inspection & Testing
