March 2018 – Present

  • Working as part of the estates team, I ensure the smooth running of a large 50-acre research station with over 40 buildings of varying ages and states of repair. Some of my main roles and responsibilities include:
  • Managing an onsite team of engineers and other Sub Contractors to ensure all M&E PPM’s for site are completed within the contractual SLA’s
  • Managing the main utilities provision on site (water, gas, LV & HV electricity & drainage), ensuring all buildings and labs have a reliable utilities network and adapting them to meet their ever-changing needs
  • Ensuring all HVAC plant, electrical provision, lighting, emergency lighting, sanitary ware, lifting equipment, fire alarms and any other fire protection equipment is maintained and operational
  • Providing direct line management to the site compliance officer, ensuring the site is compliant to all relevant legislation and for all accreditation requirements
  • Taking part in the companies ISO audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 & 45001) to ensure accreditation is retained
  • Specifying and managing a rolling replacement of the sites HVAC plant – including working towards a goal of the site becoming electrically self-sustainable by 2030

  • I managed a large team of engineers to ensure compliant, customer and engineering focused M&E provision to large portfolio of buildings, covering most of the midlands and south of England. My main roles and responsibilities included:
  • Ensuring all contracted PPM’s were delivered within their given SLA, within the contracted hours and budgets
  • Line managing a workforce of over 30 mobile engineers
  • Specifying and quoting repairs or upgrade works and projects to clients
  • Managing a large pool of subcontractors to ensure visits and certificates were completed and issued on time
  • Writing or reviewing all RAMS for maintenance tasks and repairs or projects
  • Working with facilities managers to help set their budgets for ongoing building maintenance
