Hospital Shift Maintenance Engineer

2013 – 2016

  • 4-on-4-off shift electrical engineer at a large Hospital
  • Completion of all routine maintenance, in line with the agreed site plan
  • Repair and maintenance of the plant and its equipment, to ensure faults are identified quickly and downtime is minimised
  • Fault finding, rectification and planned maintenance of single and three phase power systems, emergency lighting, motors, BMS operation (York), Controls, Variable speed drives, air handling units, chillers, split units, 1st line boilers, pumps, pressurisation units, UPS and generators, fire alarm, security, access control systems and fan-coil units, maintenance of critical environments

  • Repair and maintenance of the plant and its equipment, to ensure faults are identified quickly and downtime is minimised
  • Fault finding, rectification and planned maintenance of single and three phase power systems, emergency lighting, motors, BMS operation (Trend), Controls, Variable speed drives, air handling units, chillers, split units, 1st line boilers, pumps, pressurisation units, UPS and generators, fire alarm, security, access control systems and fan coil units
  • Accurate recording of all work undertaken for compliance and audit purposes
  • Ensuring all duties is undertaken in line with current health & safety legislation
  • Responding to reactive maintenance
  • Auditing contractor performance
  • Responsibility for ensuring all electrical compliance with 17th Edition regulations for approximately 1500 circuits under landlord responsibility
  • Responsibility for conducting annual Thermographic surveys and remedial where required
  • Responsibility for ordering all electrical stock from a wide variety of suppliers for all reactive and planned maintenance
  • The site has four cooling towers and I am conversant with all maintenance and operating procedures for these including dip-slide incubation, biocide and redox monitoring, recording appropriate data for statutory compliance
  • Fully conversant with all Legionella control procedures including chemical dosing of closed systems and temperature monitoring
