January 2016 – Present
I run the Hard Services contract for at Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull
- I successfully secured the role of Operational Lead overseeing a five year contract, the first retail contract for my current company
- As sole budget holder for the contract I facilitate monthly KPI meetings and manage small projects extraneous to the contract requirements
- I am the line manager for a team of six engineers and two contract administrators. We ensure Touchwood remains one of the most prestigious shopping and entertainment complexes in the Midlands area
- Other senior management responsibilities include Safety Leadership and Sustainability application
- I was also one of the four core senior management team who helped secure ISO 50001 accreditation for the centre in October 2017 – the first shopping centre in the UK to gain this reputable accreditation
Interserve Regional Engineering Supervisor
April 2014 – January 2016
- I TUPE’d across to Interserve in April 2014 and immediately took control of the Midlands region along with BBC Mailbox
- I was officially promoted to a regional position and became responsible for the BBC’s Senior Broadcast Critical site near Evesham along with the additional Midlands sites
- This entailed responsibility for a multi-use complex including a training centre and two critical data centres, catering for a large output of the BBC’s digital TV and radio network
- I oversaw this 24/7 operation with a team of five engineers ensuring the data centres ran flawlessly, guaranteeing the sites were fully resilient at all times
- I also line managed two engineers on the patch who are responsible for seven sites in total in the Midlands area
Balfour Beatty Workplace (BBC Mailbox) BES Supervisor
November 2008 – April 2014
- Haden became Balfour Beatty Workplace. I was promoted to the role of BES Supervisor at BBC Mailbox
- I adapted confidently and effectively to the significant additional responsibility involved in this role – including managing a team of seven engineers; their rotas, PPMs and reactive work (Maximo)
- I successfully co-ordinated a large-scale multi-agency project to install and test a new generator cooling system
- I also deputised for the Services Manager during holidays etc. This entailed managing the whole BBC services team including cleaning, security, catering and porterage
Haden BML (BBC Mailbox) Controls / Senior Technician
May 2007 – November 2008
- I was offered a permanent position with the BBC and was quickly promoted to Controls Technician
- Additional responsibilities involved sorting and distributing PPMs, managing the shift rota and chairing weekly meetings including toolbox and safety talks with the other technicians

- I began working on shift as a M+E Technician at IBM Warwick, a massive business critical data centre for IBM
- I learned the importance of Category A Maintenance
- I gained experience working with cooling towers, various UPS and generator backed supplies, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, CCTV systems and door access systems (CASI)
- I administrated CAFM programs such as Maximo and SMART, integrating them with a handheld PDA

June 2004 – August 2006
- I began working for Haden at the Mailbox for the BBC. In this role I further developed my skills in plumbing, chilled and heated water distribution, air conditioning (fan coil, AC and chilled beam experience), critical air conditioning (DX and FC Units), UPS and generator backed power supplies
- I learned how to fully manipulate the Honeywell BMS system to suit the client’s needs

Following a brief installation job at the Bullring in Birmingham, I began to work in a small team for Amec maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in the BT service tunnels that ran under Birmingham city centre
