Project & Minor Works Manager (Fabric)

Brief description of the role and responsibilities  

The role of Project & Minor Works Manager will be responsible for project and minor works to the prestigious commercial estate covering all aspects of fabric, civil and specialist services

We are seeking an ambitious, driven, and enthusiastic individual with experience in fast paced minor works and refurbishment environments to oversee and programme manage through project and minor works delivery teams a variety of fabric and specialist services ensuring service is delivered to the highest standards in safety, quality, compliance and integrity.

***The prospective candidate must or will obtain Non-Police Personnel Vetting Standards (NPPV) Level 2 in order to be considered for this role***

Main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to           

Estimating and quotation of projects & minor works from £500.00 to £150,000.

Project management of project and minor works within region of Scotland

Programme management of specific schedules of work arising from inspections such as Fire Risk Assessment remedial works.

Conduct site visits and provide proactive solutions to Fabric building issues.

Complete building fabric inspections and surveys

Completing all required H&S documentation, audits, inspections and follow up corrective actions to deliver target zero health objective for the contract.

Work collaboratively with supply chain to deliver value for money service.

Provide technical and operational support to helpdesk and support service functions

Support and drive sustainability and energy management initiatives

Attend client meetings and manage appropriate customer relationships within the clients' organisations, providing any necessary escalation points and ensuring that customer satisfaction is achieved.   

Strong effective communicator, a team player however capable of delivering solutions and strategies which require individual leadership

Delivering positive and comprehensive internal and external communication

Managing direct project engineer resource to deliver project and minor works

Develop the management and engineering workforce through relevant training & development programmes.

Ensuring that all employees have the appropriate skills, knowledge, experience training and qualifications to fulfil their role

Ensuring that all direct and indirect reports are aware of their responsibilities with regard to the Health & Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality policies

Experience and Qualifications

Strong technical engineering background working in a fast-paced hard services environment

Experience in running projects of fabric, civil, drainage and minor refurbishment programmes

Demonstrate an understanding of the legislative requirements that impact on the client’s property.

Relevant H&S qualifications for the position (IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS)

Good communication skills including presentation and written report writing.

Good PC skills, including advanced Excel,

Ability to complete full Disclosure and Government baseline clearance (mandatory requirement to work on contract)

Full driving licence.

Hours and Environment              

This position will be based at regional offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Dundee however the role holder will be required to travel to other offices and client sites on a regular basis throughout Scotland  

Core working hours for this position are from 8am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be expected regarding hours of work to suit the needs of the business and team.
