Working for a successful Manufacturing business going through a period of continued growth and has an outstanding opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional  to take the lead in all matters pertaining to day to day finance, whilst operating as a key member of the management team

Primary Job Aims:                                                                                                                 

Responsibility for the preparation of all accounting records and reports to meet monthly and weekly deadlines. Assist in the preparation of forecasts, projections and budgets. Management of the day to day business financial requirements.

Main Duties
 

  • Lead the small finance team

  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts and Management Information to agreed timelines

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the business

  • Maintain a 13 week rolling cash flow forecast, updated on a weekly basis

  • Ensure all control accounts are reconciled monthly

  • Manage interface with stock systems

  • Liaise with external advisors, banks and auditors.

  • Ensure that the ledgers are maintained and that all transactions entered by the business are completely and accurately accounted for, recorded, and reported.

  • Manage and support monthly payroll and ensure that adequate controls are exercised in this area.

  • Preparation and submission of VAT and PAYE returns

  • Assume overall responsibility for credit control and internal reporting of same

  • Prepare statutory accounts in conjunction with senior management



Key role requirements
 

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum two years post qualification experience

  • Hands on knowledge of financial reporting systems (preferably with Sage)

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

  • Demonstrate attention to accuracy and detail

  • Team player

  • Ability to guide both finance and non-finance personnel

  • Ability and proven track record of working effectively in a team environment and on their own with the ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure

  • Experience working in a manufacturing business is a preference
