Commercial Gas Supervisor
Location: Manchester – with travel
Salary: £48,000
Hours: 42 per week | Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm
Reporting to: Technical Services Manager


Overview

Join one of the UK’s leading building services companies as a Commercial Gas Supervisor, playing a pivotal role in overseeing gas engineering operations across commercial sites nationwide. You’ll lead and support a team of gas-safe engineers, ensuring all installations, maintenance, and repairs are completed to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency. This is a hands-on supervisory role that requires technical expertise and strong leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate commercial gas engineers across multiple sites

  • Ensure compliance with Gas Safe regulations, relevant legislation, and safety standards

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee PPM and reactive gas maintenance works

  • Conduct quality audits, technical inspections, and provide on-site guidance

  • Manage risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and ensure H&S procedures are followed

  • Assist in the delivery of small-to-medium gas-related projects and upgrades

  • Provide technical support to clients and internal teams

  • Monitor contractor performance and manage service delivery standards

  • Support team training, Gas Safe registration compliance, and ongoing certification


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with commercial gas systems

  • Recognised ACS Commercial Gas qualifications (e.g., COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1)

  • Proven experience supervising or leading a team of gas engineers

  • Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and industry best practices

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • SSSTS/SMSTS and IOSH certificates (preferred)

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and digital job management systems
