We are looking for an Electrical Contracts Manager to lead and oversee the management, maintenance, and compliance of electrical systems across various facilities in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for an expert to bring their technical knowledge and leadership abilities to ensure the optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of commercial electrical operations.
What You’ll Do:

Lead a Skilled Team: Manage and guide a team of electrical engineers, ensuring best practices in installation, maintenance, and compliance.

Oversee System Efficiency: Ensure all electrical systems, including distribution, lighting, power, and control systems, are regularly maintained, tested, and operating efficiently.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with electrical safety regulations, health and safety standards, and relevant environmental legislation.

Project Management: Oversee electrical installations, upgrades, and refurbishments, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to industry standards.

Energy Efficiency: Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall system performance.

Troubleshoot & Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical systems, providing hands-on support when necessary.

Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations and service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in commercial electrical engineering, contracts management, or facilities management.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, lighting, emergency systems, and associated electrical equipment.

Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and developing a team of technical staff within a commercial electrical or facilities management environment.

Qualifications: Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, or equivalent). NICEIC accreditation or similar would be advantageous.

Problem-Solving Ability: Excellent diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Health & Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
