Head of Ventilation - Chester
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum (DOE) + Pension + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Chester (office-based with nationwide travel)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent


About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Ventilation to lead our ventilation project team and deliver a wide range of commercial and industrial ventilation projects across the UK. This is a senior role where you will take full responsibility for ventilation design, ductwork installation, project delivery, and client management.
You will work on projects ranging in value from £5k to £1M, overseeing everything from design calculations (including pressure drops) to tender submissions, estimations, and on-site project management. The role is based in Chester with some travel required nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead ventilation projects from design through to installation and handover.
  • Carry out ventilation system design, duct sizing, and pressure drop calculations.
  • Prepare and submit formal tenders, quotations, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee ductwork installation and ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and liaise with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers.
  • Resolve project issues and provide technical expertise.
  • Support business growth through client relationship management and developing new opportunities.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale ventilation projects.
  • Strong background in ventilation design and project management.
  • Ability to size ductwork, specify ventilation equipment, and work from drawings.
  • Skilled in estimation and tender returns.
  • 20+ years’ experience in ventilation / HVAC industry.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong IT and communication skills.
  • Committed, reliable, and hands-on with a strong work ethic.

Salary & Benefits
  • £60,000 - £75,000 per annum (depending on experience).
  • Private pension contribution: £6,000 - £7,000 per annum.
  • Project-based bonus scheme.
