About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team based in Sedgefield. In this role, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical building systems.
You’ll be part of a professional team working in a clean, safety-focused environment - where health and safety compliance is key. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and able to communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class maintenance service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance on a range of building services and systems.
- Respond to breakdowns and faults, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Work as part of the on-call rota (1-in-4) with a £150 retainer.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site health & safety procedures - including wearing appropriate PPE such as gowns, hairnets, and safety gear.
- Conduct fault-finding, testing, and inspection of electrical systems.
- Complete job sheets, reports, and maintenance records accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the client and site team to ensure satisfaction and high service standards.
- Support continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to maintenance processes.
Requirements
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, 2330, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (essential).
- Proven experience in building services maintenance or a facilities management environment.
- Strong knowledge of PPM schedules, reactive maintenance, and fault-finding.
- A commitment to health and safety best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and hardworking attitude - someone who takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile for clients.
