We are looking for a Technical Manager with a Gas background to lead the management of gas systems, assets, and operations across multiple facilities in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for an expert to bring their technical knowledge and leadership abilities to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and safety across all gas-related infrastructure.
What You’ll Do:

Lead a Skilled Team: Manage and guide a team of gas engineers and technical staff, ensuring best practice in installation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems.

Oversee System Performance: Ensure all gas installations, pipework, and appliances are regularly inspected, serviced, and operating efficiently in line with legislation and manufacturer guidelines.

Drive Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with gas safety regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental legislation.

Project Management: Oversee gas system upgrades, replacements, and infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.

Implement Efficiency Measures: Identify and deliver strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs without compromising safety or service quality.

Technical Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex gas system issues, providing expert support to engineering teams when required.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in gas engineering, facilities management, or a related technical role.

Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial gas systems, including boilers, pipework, controls, and related plant equipment.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop technical teams.

Qualifications: ACS Gas Safe qualifications (commercial gas preferred) and/or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.

Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

Health & Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of gas safety legislation, risk assessment, and safe systems of work.
