Salary: £54,000 - £59,000 + Car Allowance (£4,700)

Are you an expert in Water Safety and Legionella management with experience in PFI and NHS healthcare environments?
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Water Specialist Manager to lead Legionella control and water hygiene management at a healthcare facility in the Bromley area. This role offers the opportunity to manage essential water safety systems while leading a talented team of mechanical and HVAC professionals.

About the Role:

As the Water Specialist Manager, you will ensure the safe and compliant operation of water hygiene systems, including Legionella control, across the facility. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be pivotal in managing a large team while maintaining the highest standards in water safety and mechanical systems management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legionella Control & Technical Oversight: Manage the operation, maintenance, and safety of water hygiene systems, with a focus on Legionella prevention and adherence to relevant health, safety, and water hygiene standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, HVAC, and water maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure the prevention of Legionella and other waterborne hazards within the water systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, particularly those related to Legionella control and water hygiene standards.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with various departments and external contractors to manage water hygiene and Legionella prevention projects.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records, including Legionella monitoring data, compliance reports, and maintenance schedules.

About You:

  • Water Safety & Legionella Expertise: Extensive knowledge of water hygiene systems, with a particular focus on Legionella risk management, safety protocols, and regulations.
  • NHS PFI Experience: Proven experience working within PFI and NHS healthcare environments.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of managing large maintenance teams.
  • RP/AP Certification (Desirable): Ideally, you will have Responsible Person (RP) or Authorised Person (AP) credentials related to Legionella and water hygiene.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members, other departments, and external contractors.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of water hygiene and Legionella control regulations and compliance requirements.
