Job description

Location: Depot-based (Redditch) with regular site travel
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 basic + overtime
Hours: Monday–Friday days, plus overtime / out-of-hours
Vehicle: Company vehicle provided


The Role
This is a high-intensity, hands-on engineering role within the temporary HVAC hire sector. Work is often reactive, time-critical and physically demanding, involving urgent installations, breakdown response and short-notice works rather than planned maintenance. You’ll be depot-based when not on site and must be comfortable with travel, occasional long days, and the realities of emergency response work.
You will work alongside an experienced team, supporting and leading installation, servicing, and maintenance of temporary commercial boilers and air-cooled chillers.
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong commercial / industrial engineering background (not domestic)
  • Proven experience with forced draft burners and temporary boiler systems
  • Experience on 600kW–2MW gas & oil plant
  • Knowledge of BMS / boiler control systems
  • Comfortable in a reactive hire environment
  • Willing to travel and stay away occasionally (1–2 nights if required)
Technical Exposure
  • Commercial boiler rooms and LTHW systems
  • Mechanical pipework modifications
  • Chillers, chilled water systems, AHUs
  • Fault-finding on mechanical and basic electrical/control systems
Requirements
  • Commercial Gas Safe
  • F-Gas (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • DBS check required
