Ground Source Heat Pump Engineer | GSHP Engineer | Renewable Heating Engineer
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
Overtime: Time and a half on Saturdays | Double time on Sundays
Location: Nationwide (ideally based within 2–3 hours of the West Midlands)
No Call-Out Rota – a major benefit for work–life balance
Job Description
A growing renewable energy contractor is recruiting multiple Ground Source Heat Pump Engineers due to continued expansion. This is a full-time, permanent position primarily focused on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), with additional installation and remedial works as required.
The role involves working on commercial and large domestic ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems across the UK. Engineers benefit from flexible working hours, provided work is completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Planned preventative maintenance of ground source heat pump systems
Servicing, fault finding, and repair of GSHP and renewable heating systems
Refrigeration diagnostics and repairs
System operational checks and performance testing
Calibration of flow meters, sensors, and controls
Ground loop and source-side inspections
Heating distribution system checks
Electrical and controls fault finding and maintenance
Monitoring system performance and completing service reports
Ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and industry regulations
Occasional installation work, including coil and compressor replacements
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Heat Pump Engineer, GSHP Engineer, or Renewable Heating Engineer
Experience working on ground source heat pump systems (preferred)
F-Gas certification (essential)
Good electrical fault-finding capability
Ability to interpret system performance data and BMS trends
CSCS card (preferred)
Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required
Able to work independently or as part of a two-person team
Punctual, professional, and reliable
Salary & Benefits
£40,000 – £50,000 basic salary
Paid overtime (1.5x Saturdays, 2x Sundays)
