HV Authorised Person (AP) – Electrical Engineer

Static Site – Marston Green, Birmingham
Up to £43,000 Basic (DOE)
1 in 8 Call Out | £125 Standby (Fri–Fri) | Minimum 4hrs Paid Per Call

We are recruiting for an experienced High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) to join one of the UK’s largest and most established Facilities Management providers on a static site in Marston Green.

This is a key technical role on site, responsible for HV operations, electrical compliance, and ensuring the safe and continuous distribution of power across the estate.

The Role:

  • Act as Authorised Person (AP) for HV systems on site

  • Responsibility for HV switching, isolations and issuing permits

  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of HV & LV distribution systems

  • Carry out and oversee PPM and reactive maintenance

  • Support electrical compliance and statutory inspections

  • Fault finding on electrical systems and associated plant

  • Liaise with subcontractors and manage specialist HV contractors when required

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and logbooks

  • Support small project works and electrical upgrades


What We’re Looking For:

  • HV Authorised Person (essential)

  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)

  • Experience in commercial or critical environments

  • Strong knowledge of safe systems of work and electrical compliance

  • Experience working within an FM or building services environment

  • Ability to take technical ownership of the electrical infrastructure on site
