Job description

Work in Bermuda as a Carpenter or Finishing Foreman

Build high-end commercial interiors while living somewhere completely different.

We’re recruiting experienced Carpenters / Finishing Foremen to join a well-established commercial interiors contractor in Bermuda.

This is a long-term opportunity to work on high-spec office and hospitality fit-outs, while experiencing island life.

What’s on Offer

  • Approx. $40 per hour

  • $1,500–$2,000/month housing contribution

  • Strong earning potential ($100K+ annually depending on hours)

  • Support with relocation and settling in

  • Assistance with transport (typically scooter-based travel)

The Work

Projects are primarily commercial interior fit-outs, including:

  • Office fit-outs and refurbishments

  • Tenant improvement projects

  • Corporate rebrands and office churn

  • Hospitality interiors

Typical projects:

  • $1.5M – $6M+ value

  • 3–6 month programmes

  • Delivered within live/occupied environments

You’ll be working in small, experienced teams where quality and ownership matter.

Your Role

This is a hands-on finishing role with elements of site leadership.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Installation of commercial millwork, cabinetry and joinery

  • Doors, frames, trim and architectural finishes

  • Office front systems and glazing

  • Reading drawings and coordinating with other trades

  • Checking quality before close-up

  • Supporting or leading small teams on site

This role suits someone who takes real pride in finish and detail.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in commercial carpentry / interiors

  • Experience in high-quality finishing work

  • Ability to work independently and within small teams

  • Reliable, detail-focused and professional

  • Comfortable relocating internationally

Life in Bermuda

Bermuda offers a lifestyle many people don’t want to leave:

  • Warm climate year-round

  • Beaches, water sports and outdoor living

  • Safe, friendly communities

  • Strong expat network

However, it’s important to be realistic:

  • Cost of living is high

  • Rent typically starts around $2,000/month (however, there is a $1,500 to $2,000 month housing contribution)

  • This is not a working holiday — it’s a professional move

Relocation Process

All hires will go through a structured process:

  • Medical and drug testing

  • Background checks

  • Qualification verification

  • Work permit application

Full support is provided throughout.

Who This Suits

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to:

  • Work on high-quality projects

  • Earn strong money

  • Experience a different lifestyle

  • Take pride in their trade

A Day in the Life Working in Bermuda

Life on the island quickly settles into a routine that mixes serious work with an incredible environment.

A typical day might look like this:

Morning

  • Start the day early and head to site, often by scooter, which is the most common way to get around the island.

  • Grab a coffee on the way and arrive on site around 7:00–7:30am.

  • Review the day’s tasks with the team and coordinate with other trades before work begins.

On Site

Most of the day is spent working on commercial interior projects, which might involve:

  • installing cabinetry or architectural finishes

  • framing partitions or boarding drywall

  • completing high-standard finishing work

  • checking drawings and coordinating with electricians, plumbers and other trades

  • making sure everything is ready before walls are closed up

Teams are usually small, so everyone takes ownership of their work and quality matters.

Afternoon

The day typically wraps up around late afternoon, although some projects require evening or weekend work — especially when working in occupied buildings where noisy work must be done after hours.

After Work

This is where Bermuda feels very different from most places.

Evenings might involve:

  • heading to the beach for a swim

  • fishing or boating

  • diving or paddleboarding

  • meeting friends for dinner or a drink

  • watching the sunset over the water

Many people find the lifestyle becomes a great balance between work and outdoor living.

Weekends

Weekends can include:

  • exploring the island

  • boat trips and fishing

  • beach days

  • golf or water sports

  • relaxing with friends

For many tradespeople, the biggest difference is simple:

You’re still working hard during the week — but your free time feels very different from life back home.
