Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Bournville, Birmingham
Site: Mondelez Manufacturing Facility
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon to Fri


Job Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to be based at the Mondelez site in Bournville. This is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating mechanical maintenance operations across a large, complex site that includes manufacturing, R&D, and commercial facilities.
The Mechanical Supervisor will act as the primary escalation point for mechanical issues, ensuring high standards of compliance, safety, and operational performance. This role combines leadership, planning, and hands-on technical support when required.

  • 6 manufacturing blocks
  • 1 R&D facility
  • 2 commercial spaces

Key Responsibilities
As the Mechanical Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the main point of contact for mechanical escalations across site
  • Organising, supervising, and supporting mechanical teams
  • Managing and coordinating workload across multiple buildings
  • Ensuring compliance with site standards, health & safety, and statutory regulations
  • Supporting operational standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing hands-on mechanical support when required, including working on the tools
  • Working closely with the Mechanical Manager and wider engineering teams

Team Structure
  • 11 direct reports
  • Reporting directly to the Mechanical Manager

Working Pattern
  • 40-hour working week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Typically 4 days office-based and 1 day hands-on/on the tools

Technical Requirements
To be successful in this Mechanical Supervisor role, you will have:
  • Strong boiler house experience
  • Proven experience working with steam systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of steam-driven boilers
  • Experience with effluent plant systems
  • Experience maintaining service stacks
  • Previous experience working in a critical or complex environment (highly desirable)
